About Me
Meet the writer
behind the posts
If you've followed any of my journey throughout my early 20's, you may know that I've already published a personal blog - and maybe even some of you, including myself, may describe it more like a public diary. Although I was going through one of the darkest chapters of my life, for the first time, I had given myself permission to use my voice - and with that permission came empowerment and a freedom that was, simply, addicting. As needed, loud and as raw as it was at the time, life has guided me toward taking an unintentional step back to not only heal, but to grow. And I've grown a lot.
I dimmed most of my light in my 20's, describing it as living in a black and white film. But the whole time I wondered if anyone else was feeling the way I did - behind, alone, not good enough, not far enough in life or anywhere near where I thought I'd be. I would monologue to myself in the bathroom mirror before bed about how we all have these visions and timelines for ourselves, and how growing up is realizing everything you envisioned and planned for your life may never happen. That's a scary feeling. I've wanted to put all of these thoughts and feelings into words, not only for myself, but for anyone else who can relate on this deeper, soul searching level. And then, after several long years of talking myself out of it, I've allowed myself to dream - and Speak to your Soul was born.
I wouldn't change a single thing about that 21 year old girl who was just trying to figure it out, and I'm excited to embrace who this 30 year old woman is and is becoming. This new era of my blogging is a formal representation of who I was, how far I've come, and who I am today. I'm shining my light again, and I'm hoping by leading with this light, someone can find theirs as well. All this to say: come soul search with me. Let's see what we find.
